Who We Are
In the mid 20th century, the Lima Electric Motor Co. was a world leader in power transmission products. Wayne Gideon, the president of Lima Electric, founded the Lima Equipment Company in the early part of the 1960s in order to assist in the engineering and design of industrial products with other local businesses. Wayne was responsible for the design and manufacture of many products including the Atlas Welding positioners and the Multi-Power high cycle generator widely used in the construction of critical infrastructure such as skyscrapers and bridges.
Remaining in Lima, OH, and in it's third generation, our family owned machine shop has grown through the years and provides contract engineering, development, CNC machining, welding, and production of a multitude of products including the Lima Welding Postioners.

Lima Equipment Company was founded by Wayne M. Gideon. Wayne was the president of the Lima Electric Motor Company, one of the most significant power transmission product manufacturers in the 1940s and 1950s.
Lima Electric Motor Company was founded by Homer Reeder in 1937. It was subsequently sold to the Consolidated Diesel Electric Company (CONDEC) and then to Marathon Electric. It was a very important employer locally, and a significant player nationally in the motor and power transmission arena.
